It’s 21st century, yet most women are still clueless when it comes to their own vaginas, even though the female body has changed very little since our cave dwelling days.

Society encourages us to follow the latest fashion trends but shames us into silence when it comes to our vaginas. Unlike men who shamelessly share stories of their dicks conquests!

Now, I am not saying all men are uneducated and body shame young girls. Yes, some do, but even worse than this is that 21st century women don’t know enough about their own bodies; especially when it comes to sex.

So, with this in mind, here are 4 things most of us girls have experienced at one point or other that are perfectly natural and should be something we are all brave enough to openly discuss:

Fanny Farts

Everyone farts and burps all the time, and some even do so on purpose – but a fanny fart, now thats gross and your going too far! But I’ll give you two guesses who has pushed all the air up there and blocked its escape route in the first place…easy body physics, isn’t it.

Seriously, do you think we do that because we want to? Trust me we don’t! Yes, they can be super loud and a lot of women funnily enough experience them mostly when fucking doggy style, making it feel like farting directly in your face already. Then either ignore it or have a sense of humour and laugh it off. Sometimes it can feel like it ruined a romantic moment but laughter should never be forgotten during sex, after all we do it because we enjoy every single bit of it.

Wet Doesn’t = Horny

“WOW you are SO wet today” Yes, some of use women do hear that, and “NO, I am not!”

Some people have dry eyes and others don’t. Why should our vaginas be different? Discharge is something we all experience in either large or small amounts and can vary throughout our cycle; it is something we can use to track our period with, a great app to do so is Clue.

Discharge basically cleans everything down there, you have a self cleaning vagina – that deserves a WOW! I still advocate splashing it with a bit of water every now and again. But seriously, how should you deal with it? Firstly, get to know your body – especially your cycle. You will then be aware of the days when you just feel a bit wet without actually being aroused.

Use it to your advantage, after all, a little extra lube ain’t never hurt nobody. 😉

Vaginismus

Vaginismus is a very real condition that doesn’t get enough recognition. The symptoms sound all far too familiar, and for most of us this is what mostly likely happened during our first times having sex or if you are one of the ‘lucky’ ones and he is just fucking huge!

Vaginismus is the term used to describe reoccurring or persistent involuntary tightening of muscles around the vagina whenever penetration is attempted, meaning: ‘Nope not gonna happen’, ‘You can’t get in here’, ‘Closed for today’, ‘Bye, bye see you another time’.

Some things take their time and if it just means building up trust with a new partner then there is nothing to worry about. Having said this, if you still experience involuntary tightening each time you have sex or penetration is just impossible for you, be brave and reach out and get the right physical or psychological treatment. Again, nothing to be ashamed of. This is way more common then you think with countless reasons which range from bad encounters or sadly even how society views it making us feel guilty for no reason.

Smashing The Cervix

“How far is she dilated? 6cm!”

The only time you ever hear the word cervix is in the movies when a woman is in labour, but what is that exactly? The cervix connects the vagina with the uterus. As intense as that sounds you don’t need an x-ray to be able to check your cervix. You can simply feel it by fingering yourself and that resistance you feel at your finger tips, well there you go, that is your cervix.

During sex however, if your cervix gets hit a bit too hard it can bloody hurt! Come on guys, you shouldn’t be trying to smash the door down. When you push too hard it is not pleasure we are screaming out in, let me tell you that. It happens in situations and positions we are familiar with and enjoyed so many times before; why? Simple, just like with discharge the position of our cervix is changing throughout our cycle as well – just like the hormones, crazy right?

This is why sometimes you looooove reverse cowgirl and other times you’d prefer a trip to the gynaecologist instead. The best solution is a little change to the routine, and is hereby ordered mother nature herself!

Who knows, you might enjoy it and even learn something new…don’t forget to share it afterwards though. 😉
