A Fresh Take on Post Event Delegate Activities: Tour London in a Mighty 17-Ton Tank
Many delegates attending conferences in London would no doubt love to stay a day or two and explore our amazing city. With so much to see and experience in London, there is now a unique way to do it all.
Forget taxis, double-decker buses or even luxury private hire tours; it’s all about that unforgettable memory. Give your delegates the opportunity to experience the sights in a 17-ton bullet & bomb-proof British tank – it doesn’t get more unusual or experiential than that!
The Abbot, which is available to hire from Tanks a Lot, is a 17-ton self-propelled gun. When in service, it could fire a 105mm artillery shell 16 miles. The 50-year-old Abbot is powered by a Rolls-Royce engine and has a top speed of 29mph.
The Abbot runs on waste fuel and also does not have to pay the Congestion Charge making the experience a green one too. Nick Mead, owner of Tanks a Lot has had the tank for around 20 years and says it still runs without a hitch.
Prices start at £1,600 for two people for a three-hour tour to all the popular sites including Trafalgar Square and Tower Bridge, while safely seated atop a former British Army self-propelled gun.
Whilst this is on the pricey side, it is without a doubt, a very unique experience that would be a great giveaway prize or even an idea for team building days out, Tanks a Lot offer many other options on their website like a car crushing day which sounds like so much fun!
